Iraqi Airways Resumes Direct Flights to Moscow After Months-Long Hiatus

Moscow: After a hiatus of several months, the first Iraqi Airways flight lands in Moscow. Iraqi Airways operated its first flight to Moscow's Vnukovo Airport on Tuesday, marking the resumption of the direct route between Iraq and Russia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company stated in a press release that Moscow has welcomed the first direct flight of the national carrier, following the suspension of the route for several months. The announcement signals the rekindling of direct air travel between the two nations.

The Russian Ministry of Transport also confirmed the resumption of these flights. They revealed that two flights per week are scheduled, specifically on Saturdays and Tuesdays. This move is anticipated to enhance air traffic, facilitate passenger travel, and boost trade and tourism between Iraq and Russia.
