Baghdad: The Syrian army has elevated its alert status along the border with Iraq, as tensions seem to be rising in the region. Reports indicate that the Syrian Ministry of Defense has increased its alert level to "C" and has ordered personnel to report immediately to their units. Troops and reinforcements have been deployed along the Syrian-Iraqi border, intensifying military presence in the area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Iraqi Border Forces Commander Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Wahab al-Saidi has stated that the situation on the border remains normal. He emphasized that the activities on the Syrian side are being conducted with Baghdad's knowledge and coordination, ensuring an ongoing exchange of information. Al-Saidi confirmed that there is no current threat, suggesting cooperation between the two nations' border forces.

Despite the military movements, Damascus has not yet issued an official statement explaining the reasons behind the mobilization. The Syrian government's silence leaves room for speculation regarding the heightened alert and subsequent deployment of forces along the border with Iraq.
