Baghdad: The Ministry of Electricity has announced the successful implementation of its plan to ensure a stable electricity supply during the Arba'een pilgrimage to the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry reported that the plan was completed under the direct supervision of Minister Ali Saadi Wahib and the oversight of senior staff. The ministry mobilized all technical and engineering resources to maintain the power supply, addressing the increased demand during the pilgrimage and contributing to the grid's stability for millions of pilgrims.

The ministry's statement detailed a comprehensive effort involving more than 4,653 personnel and the deployment of 929 specialized vehicles, alongside 108 buses designated for pilgrim transportation. The plan included enhancements to the electrical grid within Karbala and the main access roads and introduced 36 mobile secondary substations.

Further actions included exempting critical routes from power outages, activating operations rooms, and deploying teams to rapidly address any electrical faults. The ministry ensured power for Husseini processions, hospitals, and service centers and illuminated main thoroughfares, with ongoing monitoring throughout the pilgrimage period.

The ministry commended the engineering, technical, and administrative staff for their dedication and responsibility, which played a vital role in sustaining electrical services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
