Baghdad: The local government in Babylon announced the success of the security plan for the Arba'een pilgrimage, reporting 75 deaths and injuries resulting from traffic accidents among pilgrims.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Babylon Governor Ali Turki al-Jamali stated, "The pilgrimage was characterized by the opening of most side roads and a smooth flow of vehicles coming from other provinces towards Karbala." The governor noted that six deaths and 69 injuries were recorded among Arba'een pilgrims, mostly due to drivers exceeding speed limits on highways. Additionally, there was a significant decrease in theft incidents targeting pilgrims.

He further explained that the plan succeeded in providing essential services. Sanitation workers and service departments operated in shifts to ensure waste removal and water supply for processions and pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage. To facilitate transportation, 750 cars and buses were provided to transport pilgrims from Karbala to Babylon free of charge throughout the day.
