According to Iraqi News Agency, Director of the Railway Police Directorate, Major General Sadiq Abdul Ghani Al-Attabi, stated that the directorate has begun implementing a dedicated security plan to safeguard pilgrim trains departing from Karbala station toward Baghdad Central Station, as well as trains heading to Basra via the southern provinces.
He explained that the plan includes integrated security, organizational, and service measures aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of train services and the safety of pilgrims during the return phase.
Al-Attabi stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of vigilance and commitment among officers and personnel, while continuing to provide security and public services with the same level of efficiency demonstrated during the transport of pilgrims to Karbala. He affirmed that operations will continue until the last pilgrim safely reaches their destination.
