Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has directed the continuation of efforts to provide services and facilitate the return of pilgrims following the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Al-Zaidi chaired an extensive meeting in the holy city of Karbala, which included ministers, governors, security commanders, and heads of service formations, to review the implementation of the comprehensive plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to providing services to visitors, procession organizers, and volunteers. He commended the security and military forces for their efforts and directed those preparations for future visits begin immediately. Al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of cleaning and reverse pilgrimage campaigns continuing until the last visitor safely reaches their home. The statement from his media office noted that Al-Zaidi listened to detailed reports on services provided during the pilgrimage, which spanned more than fifteen days. Officials reviewed security and service plans implemented in Karbala Governorate, highlighting successful transportation, health, and other services. Reports indicated the smooth transportation of over 20 million pilgrims, with more than 10,000 vehicles provided by ministries, agencies, and governorates, alongside rented buses and private vehicles. The strong cooperation among committees was also noted for addressing various challenges effectively.
