Baghdad: Dar Al-Ma’mun for Translation and Publishing has released the book “Baghdad and the Joys of Childhood” by Iraqi poet Jalil Khaz’al, translated into English by Dr. Shaker Hassan Radhi. The 78-page book comprises a collection of poems for children, evoking Baghdad as a space of beauty, imagination, and stories. It presents a rich poetic world of music, nature, innocence, and joy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the book combines enjoyment with educational values by fostering feelings of sincerity, love of nature, and connection to the city, family, and surrounding environment, in contrast to the clamor of the digital world.

This publication aligns with Dar Al-Ma’mun’s mission to promote Iraqi literature, translate it into international languages, and bring the work of Iraqi creators, particularly children’s literature, to a wider audience, serving as a bridge for cultural and human communication between peoples.
