Baghdad: Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance and leader of the National Wisdom Movement, emphasized on Saturday the importance of the government continuing its anti-corruption campaign and targeting major cases. He highlighted these points during a regular meeting of the Wisdom Movement’s advisory board.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the National State Forces Alliance released a statement indicating that al-Hakim began his remarks by congratulating the people on the arrival of Rabi’ al-Awwal, a month marked by significant historical births. He praised the Iraqi people’s conduct during the Arba’een pilgrimage, noting the absence of major incidents as evidence of effective management and organization.

Al-Hakim addressed the exceptional regional circumstances, including war and instability, and their impact on Iraq’s economy, particularly with the cessation of oil exports. He advocated for diversifying export outlets and income sources through agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and technology.

Furthermore, he expressed support for Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi’s government, emphasizing the importance of building strong international relations and enhancing Iraq’s presence in global forums. He stressed the significance of the ongoing anti-corruption campaign, the necessity of e-governance for transparency, and the safeguarding of public funds.

Al-Hakim also called for the completion of the cabinet to ensure a fully functioning government capable of implementing its program. He emphasized Iraq’s need for independent political decision-making and openness to all regional axes without partiality.

Regarding state control over weapons, he advocated for dialogue and understanding, while honoring the sacrifices of armed factions that fought against terrorism and contributed to land liberation.
