Baghdad: The Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Communications are exploring the development of electronic services that meet the needs of people with disabilities and facilitate the completion of their transactions. The head of the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Dhikra Abdul Rahim, discussed proposals with the Minister of Communications, Mustafa Sand, to develop electronic services provided to people with disabilities. The aim is to facilitate their transactions and meet their daily needs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during her visit to the Minister of Communications, Abdul Rahim explained that a number of proposals and requests were presented, including the importance of developing electronic applications and programs that would allow people with disabilities to fulfill their daily requirements and access services via mobile phones, keeping pace with technological advancements and the demands of digital transformation.

The proposals also included connecting all offices of the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs in Baghdad and the provinces to a unified internet network. This would facilitate transactions and expedite service delivery to this segment of the population.

For his part, Minister of Communications Mustafa Sand expressed his readiness and responsiveness to the proposals presented, directing that a meeting be held with the relevant departments within the ministry to discuss the issues raised. He also instructed the relevant sections to contact the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs and to follow up on the implementation of any agreements reached.
