Erbil: The High Committee responsible for implementing the joint security agreement between Iraq and Iran convened a meeting in Erbil on Saturday. National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi led the high-level security delegation from Iraq, while the Kurdistan Region’s regional delegation was headed by Minister of Interior Rebar Ahmed.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on discussing the specifics of the joint security agreement between the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Key issues addressed included border security, measures to prevent infiltration and smuggling, and strategies to maintain security and stability throughout Iraq.

National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi arrived in Erbil earlier on Saturday, spearheading the Iraqi delegation to ensure the provisions of the joint security agreement are followed. The discussions underline the commitment of both nations to enhance cooperation on security matters.
