Damascus: Hilla: A woman and her child died, and her parents were injured with burns, as a result of a fire inside their home in central Hillah, the capital of Babil Governorate, on Saturday morning. Civil Defense Media Director Aqeel Abdullah reported that the fire broke out in the Shibr neighborhood, leading to the tragic loss of life and injuries before Civil Defense teams could extinguish the blaze.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the mother and her two-year-old child succumbed to the fire, while her parents sustained injuries. The police have transferred the bodies to the forensic medicine department and have commenced an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
