Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi met with Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Akira Ando to discuss strengthening friendly relations and cooperation. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisory released a statement highlighting that Al-Aboudi and Ambassador Ando explored ways to enhance and solidify the friendly relations and cooperation between Iraq and Japan across various fields.
During the meeting, Al-Aboudi emphasized the Iraqi government’s commitment to reinforcing the historical ties between Iraq and Japan. He extended an invitation to Japanese companies to consider operating in Iraq, highlighting the country’s efforts to facilitate investment operations and benefit from the expertise of reputable international firms.
Al-Aboudi further elaborated on the Iraqi government’s initiatives under Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zubaidi to create a conducive environment for investments. This includes efforts to boost the economy by invigorating the private sector, reducing unemployment, and tapping into the potential of the young Iraqi population.
Japanese Ambassador Akira Ando expressed Japan’s readiness to support Iraq in various domains and conveyed Japan’s interest in establishing a comprehensive economic partnership with Iraq.
