Bangkok: The Iraqi youth national team has commenced its overseas training camp in Bangkok, Thailand, as they gear up for the Asian qualifiers for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup. The team began its first training session on Sunday, marking the start of an intensive preparation period.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the training session was attended by Khalaf Jalal, a member of the Executive Committee of the Iraqi Football Association and head of the youth national team delegation. Coach Ahmed Salah, along with his assistant staff, led the session. The training camp, set to last two weeks, will feature three friendly matches against Kuwait, Indonesia, and Iran, culminating on the 29th of this month.
The Iraqi team is set to compete in Group F, where they will face off against the UAE, Turkmenistan, and Thailand, the host nation. These matches are crucial for the team’s preparation and strategy as they aim to secure a spot in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup.
