Alav©s Triumphs Over Getafe as Sevilla Edges Past Rayo Vallecano in Spanish League Opener


Madrid: Alav©s secured an important victory over Getafe in their match on Saturday, as part of the opening round of the Spanish La Liga, which also saw Sevilla defeat Rayo Vallecano.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Alav©s dominated the game, taking full advantage of Getafe being reduced to ten men following Kiko Femen­a’s dismissal in the 42nd minute. Alav©s leveraged this advantage in the second half, achieving a 3-0 victory. The goals were scored by Argentinian Nahuel Tenaglia, Mariano D­az, and Mikel Rodr­guez in the 73rd, 90+1st, and 90+4th minutes, respectively.



With this win, Alav©s earned three points at the start of their campaign, temporarily topping the league standings, awaiting the outcomes of the remaining matches in this round.



In another match, Sevilla overcame an early deficit against Rayo Vallecano to secure a 2-1 victory in stoppage time at the Ram³n S¡nchez-Pizju¡n Stadium in Seville. Rayo Vallecano initially led with a goal from lvaro Garc­a Rivera in the 4th minute. Sevilla equalized with a penalty converted by Jon Jordi in the 52nd minute and secured the winning goal in the 90+7th minute, also from a penalty, converted by Pique Fern¡ndez.



Sevilla concluded the match with ten men after defender Kike Salas was sent off in the 88th minute, yet they managed to earn three points, while Rayo Vallecano left without any points.



The round continues today, with Racing Santander hosting Villarreal, and Espanyol facing Levante.
