Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi affirmed on Monday that the government is working to make Iraq an arena for the interconnected economic and developmental interests of the countries of the region.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement that “Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received the Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abdolnasser Hemmati, in the presence of the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, a number of advisors, and the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq.”
The meeting addressed the most prominent financial and monetary challenges facing the region’s economies under the current regional circumstances. The discussions highlighted the importance of working collaboratively to overcome these challenges.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government’s efforts are focused on making Iraq a central hub for the economic and developmental interests of the countries in the region. This initiative aims to secure and support efforts to consolidate stability and halt ongoing conflicts across the region.
