Baghdad: The Ministry of Labor is in active discussions with the Prime Minister’s office to address its social and economic programs and services. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor for Administrative, Financial, and Legal Affairs, Alaa Al-Sakini, recently met with a delegation from the Prime Minister’s Office, headed by Ali Jassim, to discuss the current state of the Ministry’s programs and services and explore ways to streamline its procedures.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary detailed the social and economic programs and services offered by the Ministry, highlighting the need to expand its role to align with its responsibilities in regulating the labor market, private sector, and foreign workers. Additionally, the Ministry aims to provide comprehensive social protection and welfare services.
Al-Sakini emphasized the Ministry’s focus on economically empowering youth through training and skills development, ensuring they meet labor market demands, and including them under the Social Security Law. He underscored the importance of implementing practical programs that align with the government’s vision.
Furthermore, Al-Sakini outlined the Ministry’s efforts in completing three key initiatives: networking, a call center, and digital transformation. These initiatives are intended to simplify procedures, reduce bureaucracy, and improve the service level provided to beneficiaries.
The delegation from the Prime Minister’s Office reaffirmed the government’s support for the Ministry’s initiatives, stressing the importance of completing network connections with supporting entities, particularly the Ministry of Interior. This cooperation aims to ensure the accuracy and protection of beneficiary data, thereby enhancing the efficiency of social protection services and expediting related transactions.
