Parliamentary Security Committee Postpones Meeting with Military Leaders


Baghdad: The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee has announced the postponement of its anticipated meeting with key security and military leaders, which was initially set for Monday morning. The meeting has been rescheduled to a later, unspecified date.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker of Parliament had already approved a formal request from the committee to host several top security and military officials. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the lack of precautionary measures and the failure to evacuate the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) headquarters prior to an attack by American and Saudi forces.



The meeting was expected to include attendance from high-ranking officials such as the Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Head of the PMF, the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and the Chief of Staff of the PMF. The committee had planned to address the issues surrounding the attack and take necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
