Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a phone call today from Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis to discuss bilateral relations and ways to develop them, as well as the appointment of new ambassadors for both countries to Baghdad and Bern.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a press release that the discussions also touched upon regional developments and the impact of the US-Iranian conflict on regional stability. Minister Fuad Hussein highlighted Switzerland’s positive role in mediating between Iran and the United States.
Both ministers emphasized the importance of international initiatives aimed at ending the conflict and promoting a return to negotiations, enhancing the chances of achieving peaceful and diplomatic solutions. At the conclusion of the call, they agreed to maintain coordination and consultation on international issues of mutual interest.
