Technical Malfunction Disrupts Train Service in Central Baghdad

Baghdad: A train belonging to the Iraqi Republic Railways experienced a technical malfunction while traveling through Muthanna Airport Road in central Baghdad at midday on Thursday. The incident caused significant disruption to local traffic, resulting in long queues of vehicles as commuters and travelers faced unexpected delays.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the malfunction led to the deployment of a maintenance locomotive to address the issue. The maintenance team successfully moved the disabled train cars back to the Central Station depot for necessary repairs. The traffic on the main road resumed only after the train cars were cleared from the tracks, alleviating the congestion that had built up due to the incident.
