Baghdad: Leader of the Iraqi Turkmen Front Mohammed Samaan emphasized that Iraq’s diverse population is a potential strength that has yet to be effectively harnessed. Samaan made these remarks during a dialogue session at the eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, which was attended by an Iraqi News Agency (INA) correspondent. He highlighted the significant presence of Turkmen across more than six provinces in Iraq.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Samaan pointed out that despite Iraq’s rich diversity, it has not been effectively utilized as a national strength. He noted that the various ethnic and cultural components within the country could serve as a powerful unifying force. The Turkmen, he mentioned, have made significant strides, reaching the point of assuming the position of governor after a long period of 102 years.
Addressing Iraqi-Turkish relations, Samaan elaborated on the involvement of the Turkmen Front in the current government led by Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi. He noted that the Front was part of the ministerial delegation visiting Trkiye. Furthermore, he mentioned ongoing efforts by a Turkish company to rehabilitate the Kirkuk-Baniyas pipeline, which had been deteriorated and stolen over time.
