Baghdad: The Federal Police Command on Friday denied that clashes or gunfire had occurred in Sadr City, east of Baghdad.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Federal Police Command categorically denied reports circulated by some social media sites and media outlets claiming that ‘clashes and sounds of gunfire’ had occurred in Sadr City, east of the capital.
It added that ‘the security situation throughout Sadr City and in all its sectors is completely stable, movement is normal, while our field units are carrying out their duties to maintain security and stability and serve citizens as usual.’
The command called for accuracy and caution in reporting news and urged reliance exclusively on official sources.
