FIFA Sanctions Argentina After 2026 World Cup Final Incidents


Zurich: FIFA has imposed several sanctions on Argentina following the events of the 2026 World Cup final. The governing body has taken disciplinary action after Argentina’s defeat to Spain in the final, citing inappropriate conduct from team members.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes has been suspended for 10 international matches due to his behavior following the team’s loss. Additionally, Nahuel Molina, another Argentine player, has been suspended for 7 matches. Both players have been fined $90,000.



Furthermore, the Argentine Football Association has been fined $321,000 by FIFA. The sanctions reflect FIFA’s response to the incidents that occurred during and after the final match.
