Baghdad: The Minister of Health has ordered the dismissal of the director of Al-Shaab Hospital and has temporarily assigned the Director General of Al-Rusafa Health to replace him. Health Minister Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi issued a directive on Saturday to dismiss the director of Al-Shaab Hospital and temporarily appoint the Director General of Al-Rusafa Health Department in his place.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a ministry statement indicated that Health Minister Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi inspected the health services provided at Al-Shaab General Hospital and directed the acceptance of the director’s request to be dismissed. He assigned the Director General of Al-Rusafa Health Department to manage the hospital from a lower position until a new director is appointed.

The statement added that the minister also directed the cancellation of the exception granted for the assignment of three radiology and ultrasound specialists to Baghdad, and their reassignment to other governorates due to their failure to adhere to evening shifts.
