Baghdad: A security guard was arrested for starting a fire inside a wedding hall in Baghdad. The Baghdad Karkh Police Command announced on Saturday the arrest of the security guard who set fire to a wedding hall in the Bayaa district of Baghdad, causing a blaze. The motive for the attack remains unknown.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command explained that “detachments from the Bayaa Police Station identified the perpetrator after reviewing surveillance camera footage and tracking his movements.” The statement added that “the accused confessed during interrogation to starting the fire inside the hall, and legal measures have been taken against him.”
