Khartoum: The head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the ongoing concerns of degree holders seeking recognition of their academic qualifications through the Ministry of Oil.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani convened a meeting on Saturday with representatives of undergraduate and postgraduate degree holders whose academic credentials had previously received approval under Law No. (20) of 2020. This legislation governs the equivalence of Arab and foreign academic degrees and certificates. The meeting was also attended by members of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, including MPs Rabie Abdul Jalil al-Moussawi and Hawraa Aziz al-Moussawi.
During the meeting, the degree holders’ representatives voiced their demand for fairness in the recognition process, highlighting that some individuals had not yet seen their degrees recognized despite meeting all necessary requirements and submitting multiple applications without resolution. Al-Sudani showed empathy towards their plight, pledging to continue pursuing the matter and collaborate with the Ministry of Oil to explore potential assistance and equitable solutions for their case.
