Commander-in-Chief Spokesperson Declares September 30 as a Historic Turning Point for Iraq

Baghdad: The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu’man, confirmed on Saturday that September 30th represents a strategic milestone and a historic turning point in the course of the modern Iraqi state, noting that this day represents a long period of steadfastness and sacrifices, and the actual declaration of a qualitative shift in the features of sovereignty and stability.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Numan stated that setting this date for the withdrawal of the coalition forces and the end of their mission was not a random decision. It was based decisively on the full operational readiness of the armed forces and security agencies of all branches, which have demonstrated their exceptional ability to hold the ground, defeat threats, and independently manage Iraq’s national security with efficiency and capability.

He added that reaching this pivotal sovereign moment is the fruitful result of the blood of Iraqis and the great sacrifices made by the heroic forces, which paved the way towards achieving targeted security stability that preserves Iraq’s dignity and enhances its prestige.

Al-Numan noted that Iraq has demonstrated to the world its ability to thwart terrorist plots, prompting the international community to view with great respect and appreciation the historic and courageous role played by the Iraqi people in defeating terrorist organizations and protecting the region and the world from the threat of terrorism’s spread and escalation. He stressed that with the completion of this withdrawal, a new and solid chapter will begin in building relations and developing security, economic, and training partnerships based on mutual respect and shared interests, grounded in full national sovereignty and independent Iraqi decision-making that strengthens state authority and protects the nation’s resources.
