Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, affirmed on Sunday the Parliament’s commitment to supporting policies and procedures aimed at strengthening financial stability.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the First Deputy Speaker’s media office stated in a press release that “the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, received the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Nizar Nasser, at his office on Sunday. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Uday Awad, to discuss a number of economic and monetary issues and ways to enhance financial and monetary stability, which contributes to supporting the national economy and addressing current challenges.”
“Fayhan emphasized the importance of adopting a balanced and effective monetary policy based on a proactive vision capable of anticipating changes and addressing economic risks and challenges, moving beyond short-term fixes and reactive measures. This will enhance market stability, maintain the strength of the national currency, and bolster confidence in the banking sector,” according to the statement.
Fayhan also expressed the Council’s commitment to supporting policies and procedures aimed at strengthening financial stability and providing the necessary legislative and regulatory framework to address economic challenges with a clear vision and in accordance with the requirements of the national interest.
