Ankara: The High Committee for Resolving the Kurdish Issue and Disarmament in Trkiye is set to commence its work tomorrow, Monday, with the involvement of Abdullah calan. The Turkish capital will host a high-level meeting to inaugurate the “Subcommittee on Disarmament and Depoliticization,” under the framework law for addressing the Kurdish issue.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting will take place at the Turkish Presidential Palace and will include representatives from the Ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Interior, and Defense. Officials from the Presidential Secretariat, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), and the National Security Council will also be present.
The “Follow-up, Coordination, and Implementation Committee” will feature high-ranking representatives from governmental, security, and military institutions. This includes a judge or public prosecutor from the Ministry of Justice, a diplomat with the rank of ambassador from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a govern
or from the Ministry of the Interior, and a brigadier general or colonel from the Ministry of Defense. Additionally, an official from the Presidential Secretariat, a director from the National Intelligence Organization, and a senior rapporteur from the National Security Council will participate.
Pervin Buldan, a member of parliament from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (MEK) and part of the Imrali delegation, emphasized that the meeting will set the stage for the establishment of specialized subcommittees. She highlighted that Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah calan will play a crucial role in the Disarmament and Depoliticization Committee, overseeing the commitments related to the implementation mechanism as the guarantor and organizer of the return and reintegration processes.
This initiative is part of the efforts to activate the executive provisions of the framework law, creating an institutional path to oversee the dismantling of the armed structure and facilitate the transition
towards organized political activity within state institutions.
