Iraq and Japan Explore Investment Opportunities in Electricity Sector


Baghdad: Iraq and Japan are in discussions to enhance cooperation and expand Japanese investments in Iraq’s electricity sector. Minister of Electricity Ali Saadi Wahib met with Japanese Ambassador Akira Endo to deliberate on boosting Japanese support and expanding cooperation to develop Iraq’s electrical grid.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on opportunities in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution. The discussions explored how Iraq could benefit from Japanese expertise and technologies in implementing projects, developing infrastructure, and improving grid efficiency.



The Japanese ambassador expressed Japan’s willingness to support Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity and strengthen the presence of Japanese companies in projects aimed at advancing Iraq’s energy sector.
