Baker Hughes and Iraqi Ministry of Oil Discuss Progress on Nasiriyah and Gharraf Gas Project


Baghdad: A technical meeting was held with the American company “Baker Hughes” to discuss the latest developments in the gas investment project in the Nasiriyah and Gharraf fields. The Ministry of Oil held a joint technical meeting that included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Naseer Aziz, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber, and the Vice President of the American company Baker Hughes, Ms. Silvia Gai.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting reviewed the latest developments related to the associated gas investment project in the Nasiriyah and Gharraf fields, discussed the project’s progress, technical and implementation requirements, and explored ways to expedite the work and complete the project according to the established timelines. The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Extraction Affairs emphasized the importance of this project as one of the key projects in the field of associated gas investment, given its role in enhancing the utilization of gas resources, reducing gas flaring, and supporting the national energy grid.



It is worth noting that the associated gas investment project in the Nasiriyah and Gharraf fields is being implemented with a design capacity of approximately 200 million standard cubic feet per day, and is part of the Ministry of Oil’s plans to enhance associated gas investment and reduce the quantities flared.
