Baghdad: The Iraqi Drilling Company is reviewing the procedures for participation contracts related to oil fields. The company discussed these procedures in a recent meeting, focusing on the requirements necessary to engage with specialized companies for oilfield services.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company’s media office reported that the meeting was chaired by the Director General, Engineer Mohammed Hantoush Asad Al-Azirjawi. The discussions centered on participation contracts with companies providing services such as mud logging and coiled tubing within the drilling and development projects in oil fields. Attendees included directors from relevant departments and divisions.

The meeting also addressed the mechanisms for preparing a tender to select specialized partners for turnkey services. These services aim to support the implementation of projects in Dhi Qar, Basra, Maysan, and east of Baghdad. The initiative is expected to expand the company’s work in operations and services related to drilling and development activities.

Reviewed during the meeting were the requirements and procedures outlined in the approved instructions for participation contracts. Key topics included the preparation of estimated costs, obtaining necessary approvals, and the preparation of tender documents with the required technical and contractual specifications.

Director General Al-Azirjawi stressed the importance of integrating efforts across relevant bodies and departments. He emphasized that fulfilling these requirements in accordance with approved legal and technical frameworks is crucial for the completion of the tendering process, the selection of partners, and the signing of participation contracts. This approach is intended to broaden the company’s involvement in oil projects and enhance its operational scope.
