Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, has announced that the Minister of Finance, along with the proposed loan law, will soon be presented for discussion in Parliament.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan confirmed that Parliament is gearing up for a session where the proposed loan law will be deliberated, and the Minister of Finance will be hosted. Faihan stated that the Minister of Finance has officially requested to appear before Parliament to elucidate the financial crisis and propose viable solutions.

Faihan further explained that the inclusion of this meeting in the parliamentary agenda is anticipated in one of the forthcoming sessions. He emphasized that the proposed loan and grant law is expected to arrive from the government shortly and will undergo the necessary legislative and legal processes in Parliament before being put to a vote.

Addressing the delay in completing the cabinet, Faihan highlighted a general consensus among political blocs, the government, and Parliament to finalize the cabinet formation. He noted that this is expected to reach the House of Representatives soon for a vote. The delay in voting on the remaining ministerial candidates is attributed to various factors, such as pending entitlements, including the undecided Ministry of Interior portfolio and internal Kurdish disagreements regarding the positions of Deputy Prime Minister and ministerial portfolios.
