Wasit: The Organized Crime Directorate in Wasit successfully thwarted an antiquities trafficking operation. The operation was carried out after obtaining judicial approvals and involved setting up a strategic ambush that led to the arrest of a suspect.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, an ancient Islamic manuscript was seized from the suspect’s possession during the operation. Legal measures were undertaken, and the suspect was referred to the competent court for further proceedings.
