Baghdad: Karbala police detachments arrested 16 foreign workers for violating residency regulations. A police statement indicated that detachments from the Arab and International Police Division apprehended violators of various nationalities. The arrests followed meticulous field monitoring of foreign workers’ movements within the province, which confirmed their violation of residency regulations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was carried out by a joint committee headed by the Residency Department, the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, the Intelligence Directorate, the Expatriates Division, and the Tourism Department, as part of ongoing efforts to monitor the status of workers and expatriates from outside Iraq. The detainees were handed over to the Residency Affairs Department – Deportation Division to complete the necessary legal procedures against them in accordance with applicable regulations and instructions.
