Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced the dismantling of eight drug networks and the arrest of 28 suspects in Maysan Governorate. Among those apprehended was a foreign national, highlighting the scope of the operation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ministry spokesman Colonel Abbas al-Bahadli revealed in a press release that the operations were conducted by the Maysan Narcotics Affairs Directorate. These operations, which occurred over several days in August, targeted drug dealers and traffickers. The efforts led to the arrest of a highly wanted Iraqi suspect, who was involved in multiple cases, and the confiscation of five kilograms of narcotics.

Colonel al-Bahadli further confirmed that the operations resulted in the seizure of a total of seven kilograms of narcotics. The successful operations underscore the ministry’s commitment to reaching those who threaten the security of citizens and ensuring that they face due consequences.
