Istanbul: In the opening match of the second week of the Turkish Super League, defending champions Galatasaray secured their first victory of the season, defeating newly promoted Erzurumspor 4-0 in a match played on Friday evening.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Galatasaray took the lead in the 12th minute after a corner kick taken by Sara from the left was parried by goalkeeper Orbanic. Salay pounced on the loose ball inside the penalty area and slotted it into the net.

In the 20th minute, Galatasaray doubled their lead. Following a defensive error, Yunus Akgn intercepted the ball and spotted Osimhen making a run down the left flank. Osimhen sent the ball inside before it reached the touchline, and with a shot from just outside the penalty area, Yunus Akgn tapped it into the net.

In the 45th minute, Galatasaray extended their lead to 3-0. A backheel pass from Yakup Karatay was misjudged by goalkeeper Orbanic, allowing Osimhen to pounce and fire the ball into the empty net from close range.

In the 79th minute, Galatasaray extended their lead to four goals with a pass from Baris. Sara passed the ball inside, and Osimhen followed up in front of the goal, finding the back of the net.

No further goals were scored in the remainder of the match, and with this result, Okan Buruk’s players secured their first victory in their second game, reaching four points.
