Baghdad: The Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mahdi Suhr al-Jubouri, visited the Women’s Affairs Department pavilion during the 17th Agricultural Week to review the products and projects of rural women. The exhibition showcased various contributions and skills of rural women in productive and craft fields.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the exhibits featured artistic and craft works, including clay and pottery, palm frond and palm leaf crafts, and natural cosmetic products made from herbs. The pavilion also displayed beekeeping projects, food processing, and notable ceramic pieces.
The Undersecretary attended a presentation by the head of the Women’s Affairs Division in the Seed Testing and Certification Department. The presentation focused on the role of women in seed production and their contributions to the agricultural sector, highlighting several examples and experiences of women in this field. This participation underscores the Women’s Affairs Department’s dedication to empowering rural women, supporting their production and craft skills, and showcasing their contributions to agricultural development and the local economy.
