Vehicle Seized for Violating Import Regulations at Al-Mundhiriya Border

Al-mundhiriya: A vehicle violating import regulations was seized at the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing. The Border Ports Authority announced on Monday the seizure of a vehicle that was found to be in violation of import regulations at this strategic checkpoint.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing directorate, with the approval of the Khanaqin court judge, intercepted the vehicle at the search and inspection point situated outside the customs area. Upon inspection, officials discovered that the vehicle was transporting single-use transparent plastic containers. These items, which are subject to a 60% product protection rating, were not declared in the completed customs documents. This omission was identified as an attempt to evade duties, leading to a loss of public funds.

The Border Ports Authority further stated that a formal seizure report was prepared, and the vehicle was subsequently transferred to the Al-Mundhiriya Customs Police Station. Legal action is now underway against those responsible for the attempted evasion.
