Baghdad: Weather forecasters predict continued high temperatures and thunderstorms in northern Iraq in the coming days. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Meteorological Organization anticipates varying weather conditions throughout the country, with clear skies and occasional clouds in different regions.

A statement from the organization highlighted that Wednesday’s weather will be clear in the northern region and partly cloudy in the central and southern regions, accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly winds. A slight increase in temperatures is expected in the southern and central regions, while the northern region will experience temperatures similar to the current day.

The statement detailed the maximum temperatures forecast for Wednesday, which include 47 degrees Celsius in Baghdad, 48 degrees Celsius in cities such as Karbala, Najaf, Babylon, and others, while northern cities like Dohuk and Sulaymaniyah are expected to have temperatures around 41 degrees Celsius. Other regions,
including Erbil and Nineveh, are predicted to experience temperatures ranging from 43 to 46 degrees Celsius.

For Thursday, the weather is expected to be clear with occasional clouds in the central and northern regions and partly cloudy in the southern region. The pattern of light to moderate northwesterly winds will persist, with temperatures remaining similar to those of the previous day.

The forecast for Friday indicates clear weather in the northern region and partly cloudy conditions in the central and southern regions. Winds will continue to be light to moderate from the northwest, maintaining similar temperatures across the country.

Saturday’s weather is anticipated to be partly cloudy, potentially becoming cloudy in several areas, with a chance of light rain showers, possibly thundery, in the northern region. Winds will vary, being moderate from the southeast in the northern region and from the northwest in the central and southern regions. Temperatures are expected to remain consistent in the centr
al and southern regions, with a slight increase in the northern region compared to the previous day.
