Ahlat: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has affirmed the unbreakable bond between Turks, Arabs, and Kurds, declaring that no external force can divide them. Speaking during the 955th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert in Ahlat, Bitlis Province, Erdogan emphasized the historical significance of unity and the potential of the “Turkey Without Terrorism” initiative to transform the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan highlighted the historical importance of Ahlat as the starting point for the Battle of Manzikert, which played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s history. He noted that the values and faith rooted in Ahlat laid the groundwork for significant historical events, including the conquest of Jerusalem and Istanbul. Erdogan characterized Ahlat as a symbol of national identity, unity, and solidarity, underscored by the Seljuk cemetery that serves as a testament to sacrifice with approximately 10,000 graves.

The Battle of Manzikert, fought on August 26, 1071, marked a decisive victory for the Seljuk Sultan Alp Arslan over the Byzantine army, opening the gates of Anatolia to the Turks. Erdogan linked the historical legacy of this battle to the contemporary goals of the “Turkey Without Terrorism” initiative, suggesting that its success would enhance economic stability and strengthen regional ties of brotherhood.

Erdogan further addressed the challenges facing the region, asserting that those who seek to disrupt the unity between Turks, Arabs, and Kurds will not succeed. He vowed that the efforts to sow discord would fail, reinforcing that the shared bonds among the peoples of the region would prevail.

In his remarks, Erdogan condemned those who profit from terrorism and attempt to destabilize the region. He expressed confidence that the forces of brotherhood, peace, and stability would ultimately triumph over conflict and chaos.
