Baghdad: The Civil Service Council is actively working towards creating a comprehensive guide to the administrative job structure of local governments, as discussed in their recent meeting. The Federal Public Service Council met on Wednesday to deliberate on the preparation of this guide, which is set to outline the administrative and functional framework of local governments across various provinces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was attended by Ahmed Al-Fatlawi, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and General Coordinator for Provincial Affairs. The session was followed by a workshop, including participants such as Saad Abdul Hamid Al-Saadi, the Chairman of the Federal Public Service Council, along with the Vice Chairman, council members, and the Director General of the Administrative Development Department. Discussions at the workshop focused on establishing a collaborative mechanism between involved parties to effectively prepare the guide.

The statement further detailed that Ahmed Al-Fatlawi reviewed the Provincial Work Law No. 21 of 2008, which outlines the legislative, administrative, and financial powers vested in local governments. He emphasized the importance of crafting a guiding manual that is tailored to the demographic, administrative, and financial specifics of each governorate, taking into account their unique human, natural, and economic resources.

Saad Abdul Hamid Al-Saadi and council members reiterated their commitment to providing a manual that respects constitutional articles and serves the public interest, aiming to build robust constitutional institutions. They also expressed readiness to organize workshops for governorate representatives to gather their input and suggestions, ensuring the guide is comprehensive and effective.
