Services Alliance and Ministry of Agriculture Discuss Modern Irrigation Technologies


Baghdad: A services alliance has underscored the importance of adopting modern irrigation technologies and supporting farmers and agricultural workers. The head of the Services Alliance, Shibl al-Zaidi, highlighted this during a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Abdul Rahim al-Shammari, where they discussed strategic plans to enhance the agricultural sector and bolster the local economy.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Zaidi’s media office released a statement indicating that the meeting entailed a comprehensive discussion on coordinating efforts between political forces and executive bodies. The aim is to support the government program and address challenges facing vital sectors, particularly agriculture, which is a key component of food security and social stability.



The statement further mentioned that al-Zaidi expressed the Services Alliance’s full support for the Ministry of Agriculture’s reform and development initiatives. He emphasized the necessity of adopting modern irrigation and agricultural technologies and providing essential support to farmers across all governorates to enhance local production and minimize dependency on imports.



During the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture outlined the ministry’s ongoing and prospective plans to develop livestock and plant resources. He praised the Services Alliance’s vision and its efforts to elevate government and service performance in the country.



Both parties stressed the importance of maintaining communication and institutional integration among various entities to achieve significant advancements in the production and services sectors. This collaboration aims to fulfill citizens’ aspirations and drive sustainable development forward.
