Trade Bank of Iraq Prioritizes Private Sector Support and Project Financing


Baghdad: The Trade Bank of Iraq has announced that its primary focus for the upcoming phase will be supporting the private sector and financing critical projects.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the bank’s president, Ali Abdul-Ridha Alwan, highlighted the strategic importance of maintaining an effective and ongoing relationship with the media. He regarded the media as a crucial partner in aiding national institutions by clearly and transparently disseminating banking information to citizens. This was articulated during a dialogue session attended by journalists, media professionals, economic experts, and academics.



Alwan stated that the bank is open to engaging with the media, ready to provide available information while adhering to legal regulations and ensuring customer data confidentiality. The session also addressed suggestions for expanding the number of bank branches in various provinces, specifically in the Karkh and Rusafa districts of Baghdad, to reduce overcrowding and improve service delivery.



The statement further revealed that the attendees discussed the value of media professionals conducting field visits to bank locations. This initiative aims to provide them with firsthand insight into banking services and procedures, ensuring the public receives an accurate depiction of the bank’s operations.



Economically, Alwan reiterated that supporting the private sector will be a central focus in the coming phase. He noted the bank’s capability to finance vital projects through sovereign guarantee mechanisms provided by relevant government entities. Al-Alwan explained that the bank could serve as an intermediary and coordinator between investors and governmental, financial, and banking institutions.



Emphasizing the bank’s comprehensive services, Al-Alwan stated that it accepts various types of accounts and offers services to both individuals and companies. He assured that the administration is committed to streamlining procedures within the legal framework and applicable regulations.



In closing, the bank president confirmed the administration’s dedication to improving the bank’s performance and services, with a plan set to unfold over the upcoming months. He also emphasized the bank’s readiness to continue engaging with the media through similar future sessions, thereby strengthening trust and providing information professionally and transparently.
