Basra: Triplets, consisting of two girls and a boy, were born at the Basra Teaching Hospital for Women and Children after a successful cesarean section performed on a woman in her thirties. The mother and her newborns are reported to be in stable health following the procedure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Hiba Salman, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology at the hospital, detailed the critical medical efforts undertaken to ensure the safety of both the mother and her babies. The mother, aged 35, was admitted with complications including preeclampsia, high blood pressure, and hormonal imbalance. Upon confirmation of the triplet pregnancy through laboratory tests and ultrasound, the medical team promptly prepared for the cesarean section, which was conducted under spinal anesthesia.

Dr. Salman further explained that the triplets were immediately transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit for comprehensive medical monitoring. This precaution ensured their stable vital signs and overall well-being. After a period of observation, the triplets, along with their mother, were moved to the maternity ward in good health.
