Shalamcheh: The Shalamcheh Border Crossing Directorate announced on Thursday the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle undeclared goods.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directorate stated, “Through inspection and verification procedures of individuals and vehicles, the Shalamcheh Border Crossing Directorate seized a refrigerated truck attempting to leave the country. The driver had concealed and failed to declare a variety of goods, including foodstuffs, car spare parts, electronic devices and batteries, refrigerant gas cylinders, and pumps, all intended for smuggling.”

The statement further mentioned, “A formal seizure report was prepared, and the driver, the vehicle, and the seized goods were referred to the Shalamcheh Customs Police Station for the necessary legal procedures in accordance with applicable regulations.”
