Baghdad: The Planning Ministry convened its twelfth meeting to address advancements related to the Fourth Arab Summit on Entrepreneurship in Iraq. Chaired by Maher Hammad Johaan, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs, the meeting involved members of the Preparatory Committee and supporting entities. The focus was on assessing the progress of preparations, along with logistical and technical procedures for the forthcoming summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the attendees reviewed minutes from the previous meeting and considered observations from committee members. Discussions included the contract with the organizing company and outcomes from the last meeting with the company about preparing the schedule of events and activities. The final status of the contract signing and the commencement of obligations were also presented.

The Finance Committee detailed procedures for activating the official bank account with the Ministry of Finance, discussing proposals for distributing sponsorship funds. The Sponsors Committee delivered a report on the first introductory conference for potential sponsors, evaluating interest levels from major companies and initial feedback.

Participants reaffirmed the need for official correspondence with relevant sectoral bodies to prepare for an expanded sponsors’ committee meeting. The technical committee shared the schedule of activities and proposed additions to memoranda of understanding prepared by ESCWA, anticipating the conference’s official announcement.

The meeting concluded with participants stressing the importance of inviting international agencies and organizations to support the summit and gain insights from their experiences. Attendance included several directors general, a representative from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and representatives from the Ministries of Planning, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Labor and Social Affairs, and the National Investment Commission.
