Iraq Engages in Key Discussions at 23rd Extraordinary OIC Foreign Ministers Session


Jeddah: An Iraqi diplomatic delegation participated in the proceedings of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The session was significant for addressing pressing issues affecting member states.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Ambassador Mawloud Ahmed Musleh Al-Mashhadani, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, led the Iraqi delegation. He represented Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein at this crucial meeting held at the organization’s General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.

During the session, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed was elected as the new Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Discussions also focused on various issues listed on the session’s agenda. The meeting was chaired by the Republic of Turkey, the current chair of the fifty-first session of the Council of Foreign M
inisters. It saw active participation from numerous foreign ministers, heads, and representatives of delegations from the member states.
