Ministry of Construction and Housing Unveils Details of Housing Fund Loans and New Application Process

Baghdad: The Ministry of Construction and Housing has disclosed the specifics of its Housing Fund loans alongside the new application process. The Ministry has outlined its strategy to reopen online applications for these loans, which will be based on the present resources available for the 2027 lending plan and the budget allocated for the Fund’s capital.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry indicated that applications will commence promptly due to the strong demand from citizens and the swift depletion of the allocated quotas for each governorate. The Ministry had previously announced on August 10, 2026, the launch dates for the loans through its official online platforms. This announcement was extensively spread across media outlets and social media. Additionally, the Ministry has been consistently reminding citizens of the application procedures and conditions since August 23, 2026.

The Ministry’s spokesperson, Nabil Al-Saffar, communicated through various media channels that a total of 10,000 loans have been allocated across all governorates. These loans have been financed through the repayment of previous loan installments and are distributed based on the population and poverty statistics provided by the Ministry of Planning.

The Ministry further stated that citizens with approved applications will be notified after the electronic forms are assessed. This will enable the completion of additional application procedures, allowing the Fund’s inspection committees to conduct home visits. This process will facilitate the disbursement of the first loan installment to the applicants.
