Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi congratulated the new King of Norway, Haakon VIII, on Friday on his accession to the throne.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a press release that “Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi congratulated the new King of Norway, Haakon VIII, on his accession to the throne.”

“In his congratulatory message, the Prime Minister expressed Iraq’s keenness to build the best relations and partnerships between the two friendly countries and to open up avenues for bilateral cooperation at various levels and in different fields and wished continued prosperity to the people of the Kingdom of Norway,” according to the statement.
