Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed on Friday the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syrian state institutions.
According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The Republic of Iraq welcomes the positive results of the talks between the leadership of the SDF and the Syrian government, which also led to the unification of the armed forces through the decision to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syrian state institutions.”
The statement highlighted that this step, along with other measures in this regard, represents a significant development in strengthening Syria’s stability and sovereignty. It is expected to contribute to broadening participation in governance and achieving the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, peace, and stability.
The Ministry reiterated the Republic of Iraq’s support for all efforts aimed at reinforcing Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, emphasizing the importance of Syrian state institutions serving as a unifying framework for all components of the Syrian people.
